Niel Marais kicks the ball over the deadball line and UCT has been awarded a scrum all the way back inside the Shimlas 22m area.

The opening 10 minutes have been completely dominated by Shimlas.

The TMO confirms that the ball was in fact grounded. Shimlas take the lead 10 minutes into the half.

Shimlas have set up a maul and get over the tryline, but the ref adjudges that the ball was held up. He then later decides to ask the TMO to check for a grounding. Decision pending.

Dylan Sage is penalised for a high tackle. Niel Marais does well to set up a 5m lineout from 50m out.

UCT are finally able to clear the ball away from the tryline after winning a free kick at the scrum. Major opportunity lost for the home side who will feel they needed to get some points on the board after such sustained pressure on the line.

UCT have absorbed a tremendous amount of pressure on their own tryline and it has not even been 5 minutes. Fantastic defence, but the job is not over as Shimlas have a 5m scrum.

Shimlas win a free kick after UCT have two scrumhalves at the lineout. Renier Botha takes it quickly and gets within centimeters of the tryline. They ball is recycled and Shimlas continue to barge their way to the tryline, but the Ref adjudges that the ball was held up.

Shimlas come right back at UCT and win a penalty at the ruck. They opt to set up a 5m lineout.

Dugmore makes a vital steal on his own tryline and UCT are able to clear the ball up field.
