Manawatu employ an effective backline move and wins a penalty after Northland go offside at the resulting ruck. Te Rure lines up a kick.

Northland hold the ball up and are awarded a scrum near their own 22m. The Manawatu scrum puts in a big shove though and nearly take the ball off Northland.

A small kicking battle ensues before Jason Emery counter attacks and make a decent amount of ground. We have the first scrum of the day, Manawatu to feed it.
