Time off now as the ref goes to the TMO to review suspected dangerous play as Matu'u crashes into Ndungane who tried to get a kick up field in. TMO rules that it was not malicious and play continues with a line out to the Hurricanes. The Sharks win one against the throw and are in possession

The Hurricanes back in possession and testing the Sharks defense once more. The Sharks defense resolute at this point but, having to make a number of tackles to keep the Canes at bay. In the end the ball is kept in play by a piece of individual brilliance from Ardie Savea who manages to keep himself in play before popping a pass to Thrush who crashes over for the try.

The Hurricanes break the defense but the ball is knocked on. The Hurricanes were playing with a penalty advantage and the play is brought back to where the Sharks were off side. Marshall sets himself for the kick at goal and pushes his kick wide
