The Crusaders break out out wide through Nandolo who breaks two tackles to pop a pass to Ellis in support. The ruck is formed after Ellis is dragged down but, the penalty goes to the Crusaders. The referee goes into his pocket and sends Nonu to the bin for continuous offsides at the ruck.

Play brought back now for the original penalty as the Hurricanes tackler did not roll away. Slade now takes aim and well wide from a fairly easy angle

The Crusaders playing with the penalty advantage get the ball into the hands of Nandolo who tries a little grubber through but, Perenara gets onto it and the play is stopped for the original infringement by the Hurricanes. Slade sets himself for the kick at but, his just misses and the score line remains unchanged
