Hickey gets the match underway, O'Connor gathers but the ball isn't come out and Auckland have the scrum feed
The teams are on the field, kick off is just moments away
Hawke’s Bay host Auckland in week 7 of the ITM Cup in Napier with the hallowed Ranfurly shield on the line.
The home side sits atop the Championship table with only one defeat from their six matches, coming at the hands of unbeaten Canterbury two weeks ago. They are coming off a hard fought 23-17 victory over Bay of Plenty.
Hawke's Bay will need to remain undefeated for the 18th consecutive time at McLean Park if they are to hold onto the Shield. They last lost there in 2013, 24-27 to Counties Manukau to wave the Shield goodbye.
Auckland lie in third position in the Premiership standing with five wins, a draw and a single loss from their seven matches. Auckland will be full of confidence, having handed previously undefeated Tasman their first loss of the season last week. They will be looking to build on this momentum and will have their eyes firmly set on leaving with the coveted Shield in their possession.
With so much on the line, this should be a cracking encounter.
