The Golden Lions hang on for a hard fought 48-43 victory over Griquas after they led 33-24 at halftime. Two quick second half tries extended their lead to 45-24. But Griquas fought back as they ran in the next two tries to trail 45-36 heading into the final quarter of the match. Griquas were in again with 5 minutes remaining to cut the gap to just two points and set up a tense finish. However, the Lions would have the final say with a penalty with the last play of the match sealing the win.
