France take a 9-8 lead over NZ into halftime. NZ got off to a dream start, scoring a try inside the opening 2 minutes to lead 5-0. France hit back immediately with a penalty and a second midway through the half saw them up 6-5. NZ hit the front with a penalty after 25 minutes, but a French shot at goal just before the half hour mark saw them reclaim the lead. France then missed a penalty, but will take a one point advantage into the break.
