Super Rugby gets underway with an all New Zealand clash as the Chiefs host the Highlanders in round one. Both sides were knocked out in the quarter-finals in last seasons competition, with the Chiefs going down 32-31 to the Hurricanes and the Highlanders 30-23 against the Waratahs. Both did have impressive regular seasons with the Chiefs winning 11 of their 16 matches and the Highlanders ten, although that was only good enough for third and fourth respectively in the ever impressive New Zealand Conference.
