The Blues take a 14-13 lead over the Hurricanes into halftime. The Hurricanes opened the scoring with an early penalty, but the Blues responded with the games opening try. The Hurricanes then went over for their first try, but the Blues hit back almost immediately with their second to regain the lead. The Hurricanes would also cross for their second try, but two missed conversions see them trail by a single point at the break after an up tempo opening forty.
