The Bulls take a 20-16 lead over Griquas into halftime. Two early penalties saw Griquas into a 6-0 lead, with the Bulls picking up a yellow card after just ten minutes. Despite being down a player, the Bulls got on the board with a penalty before scoring the games first try to hit the front 10-6. The Bulls went over for two tries in quick succession to take control up 20-6. However, Griquas finished the half strongly, with a penalty five minutes from the break and a try with the final play seeing them trail by just four points.
