The Springboks have confirmed that No. 8 Duane Vermeulen and centre Damian de Allende have been ruled out of the first Test because of injury, while Lionel Mapoe is doubtful.

Mapoe picked up a minor hamstring strain, while De Allende is troubled by a thigh contusion sustained during the last week of Super Rugby action.
The Springboks spent the week at a camp in Plettenberg Bay preparing for the three Test series against France, starting this weekend with the first Test in Pretoria.
